Entry System:
Entries for Tuesday Sales will be taken on Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday (5pm) of the previous week for inclusion in the draw.
Entries for Thursday & Friday Sales will be taken on Thursday and Friday (5pm) of the previous week for inclusion in the draw.
Entries for Monday Sheep Auction taken on Friday of previous week.
The Runner Section:
Only Stock 6 MONTHS OR UNDER will be sold in the Runner Section and they will be sold after the Calf Sale.
Calves must be at least 10 days of age before they can be sold and UNDER 6 weeks of age.
Draw For First Pen To Be Sold in Weanling Bull and Bullock Ring
Draw for First Pen of Heifers to be Sold
***Change to draw system for Bullocks, Heifers, Cull Cows, Weanling Bulls & Weanling Heifers – From 31st January 2022 – enter your stock as usual – if the number drawn is equal to or below half the number of pens entered, we go down to pen 1 and then up. If the number drawn is above half the number of pens entered, we go up to the last pen in the draw, then start at pen 1 and up to the number drawn.
Sheep Sellers All sheep including lambs presented for sale must be identified with a full set of EID tags, i.e. one conventional tag in the sheep’s left ear and a corresponding electronic tag placed in the sheep’s right ear. All sheep moved to and from a livestock mart must also be accompanied by a newly issued dispatch document containing a barcoded document serial number.

Numbers similar to last week in all rings, and overall trade similar but quality becoming very variable, and again quality lots attracting very good interest. Cows with calves at foot made to €1,700. Runner heifers made to €710 and runner bulls made to €900. A handful of calves on offer and Friesian bulls made to €100 and Continental bull calves made to €325. Hoggets improved slightly today and made to €125 or to €57 over their weight. Cull ewes generally made €50 to €90.

Kilrush Mart - General Sale. Bullocks, Heifers & Dry Cows
KILRUSH MART
WEDNESDAY 29th NOVEMBER
Larger than expected sale in Kilrush and again a very big entry of cull cows and these were predominantly off the dairy herd. The bullock and heifer ring contained a mixture of both continental and traditional breeds. Again very good demand all round with 98% clearance achieved. It must be said that cattle that are presented for sale are looking well and in good shape.
Weekly sales will continue in Kilrush up to and including Wednesday the 20th of December.

Numbers very similar to last week with just over 800 on offer. Again cull cows very big with almost 350 on offer. Cull cows today were made up of 60% dairy stock and also not that many forward or beef type cull cows in it. Beef type cows much sought after. In the bullock and heifer rings, these were dominated by store stock. Great trade get again for the quality lots. A 97% clearance rate was affected. A number of aged bulls again making to €1,830 or generally €1.50/kg to €2.11/kg.
