A good size sale of 644 cattle on offer at Ennis in Thursday. Overall trade similar to last week but cows were dearer, especially feeding cows.

A good entry of stock at Kilrush on Wednesday 1st including a good deal of young stock. Trade very strong all round. Only a few Fr. Bull calves about and these made €300 to €310. Suckler cows made €1600 to €1620.

A big sale of 982 cattle and 164 sheep on offer at Ennis on Tuesday. Trade a shade easier for bull weanlings and the lighter heifer weanlings of 230kgs to 270kgs and these back €10 to €20 per head. A very big entry of runners met a great trade. Ligher bulls under 300kgs made €2.40/kg to €3.15/kg. Heavier bulls €2.25/kg to €2.58/kg and trade for heifers similar. Suckler cows with calves at foot made up to €2540 and incalf sucklers up to €2080. Dairy stock made up to €1560. Fr. Bull calves made €215 to €275 with lighter calved back to €135. Continental Bull calves made up to €600 with heifers making up to €475. Hoggets made up to €136 or up to €83 over their weight.
Weanling Bulls: €350 to €810 over their weight

A fine size sale of 691 which included 187 cull cows at Ennis on Thursday and a very strong trade with some great quality store cattle on offer. Heifers were up €20 on the week and bullocks and cows were similar to last week.

A fine size sale of 745 cattle met a great trade. A good deal of the lighter bulls made €2.80/kg to €3.18/kg and up to €3.43/kg. Heavier bulls made 2.25/kg to €2.85/kg.
Lighter heifer weanlings made €2.65 to €3.03/kg and heavier heifers €2.30 to €2.53/kg.
Cows with calves at foot made up to €1850 while a good selection of incalf sucklers made up to €2500. Fr. Bull calves made €210 to €335 and continental bull calves made up to €700 and continental heifers up to €550.
Hoggets made €131 or up to €75 over their weight.
Weanling Bulls: €400 to €935 over their weight.
