Entry System:
Entries for Tuesday Sales will be taken on Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday (5pm) of the previous week for inclusion in the draw.
Entries for Thursday & Friday Sales will be taken on Thursday and Friday (5pm) of the previous week for inclusion in the draw.
Entries for Monday Sheep Auction taken on Friday of previous week.
The Runner Section:
Only Stock 6 MONTHS OR UNDER will be sold in the Runner Section and they will be sold after the Calf Sale.
Calves must be at least 10 days of age before they can be sold and UNDER 6 weeks of age.
Draw For First Pen To Be Sold in Weanling Bull and Bullock Ring
Draw for First Pen of Heifers to be Sold
***Change to draw system for Bullocks, Heifers, Cull Cows, Weanling Bulls & Weanling Heifers – From 31st January 2022 – enter your stock as usual – if the number drawn is equal to or below half the number of pens entered, we go down to pen 1 and then up. If the number drawn is above half the number of pens entered, we go up to the last pen in the draw, then start at pen 1 and up to the number drawn.
Sheep Sellers All sheep including lambs presented for sale must be identified with a full set of EID tags, i.e. one conventional tag in the sheep’s left ear and a corresponding electronic tag placed in the sheep’s right ear. All sheep moved to and from a livestock mart must also be accompanied by a newly issued dispatch document containing a barcoded document serial number.

Slightly bigger sheep sale today with 558 on offer Some very good sheep available and prices moved on again from last week in the hogget section as a pen weighing 56kgs hit €202. Seven lots exceeded the €200 mark today. Cull ewes averaged €1.70/kg as a pen of ewes hit €198 for 100kgs.

Bigger sale today with almost 900 on offer, which included 200 calves. The stronger better calves met a good trade, but plainer light calves were hard sold. FR calves made from €5 to €130, as shipping activity was limited. AAX calves made from €40 to €205. HEX calves made from €125 to €350 & BBX calves made from €180 to €390. A super 5-week-old LMX heifer calf made €830. A clearance sale of suckler cows met a super trade with pairs hitting €3,360 & in-calf lots making to €2,630. The bull weanlings were an exceptional trade and made to €4.43/kg & heifers topped €4.03/kg.

Bigger than expected sale today with almost 420 on offer which included 130 calves up from 12 calves the previous week. Quite a few very light calves today and these sold from €1/head to €40 for freisans and better lots made to €80, also quite a number of AAX calves with the light poor calves making €10 to €80 with better lots making €120 to €175. HEX calves made €65 to €235. Again, mostly dairy culls available. Again, in the bullock and heifer ring mostly young cattle available.

Smaller sale today with just short of 350 cull cows and heifers on offer. Heifers a shade dearer all round today with cattle up about 5c/kg. Some very nice store heifers available and beef types scarce. The beef type cull cows up 5c/kg to 10c/kg with store types similar. Aged bulls averaged 2.29/kg with a limouisin bull of 1170kgs hitting €2,890.
