Entry System:
Entries for Tuesday Sales will be taken on Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday (5pm) of the previous week for inclusion in the draw.
Entries for Thursday & Friday Sales will be taken on Thursday and Friday (5pm) of the previous week for inclusion in the draw.
Entries for Monday Sheep Auction taken on Friday of previous week.
The Runner Section:
Only Stock 6 MONTHS OR UNDER will be sold in the Runner Section and they will be sold after the Calf Sale.
Calves must be at least 10 days of age before they can be sold and UNDER 6 weeks of age.
Draw For First Pen To Be Sold in Weanling Bull and Bullock Ring
Draw for First Pen of Heifers to be Sold
***Change to draw system for Bullocks, Heifers, Cull Cows, Weanling Bulls & Weanling Heifers – From 31st January 2022 – enter your stock as usual – if the number drawn is equal to or below half the number of pens entered, we go down to pen 1 and then up. If the number drawn is above half the number of pens entered, we go up to the last pen in the draw, then start at pen 1 and up to the number drawn.
Sheep Sellers All sheep including lambs presented for sale must be identified with a full set of EID tags, i.e. one conventional tag in the sheep’s left ear and a corresponding electronic tag placed in the sheep’s right ear. All sheep moved to and from a livestock mart must also be accompanied by a newly issued dispatch document containing a barcoded document serial number.

Sheep Auction
Big sale today with over 650 sheep on offer. A big increase in the lamb numbers available, as the trade held firm. Some very nice quality factory lambs on offer, with butcher’s lambs over 50kgs scarce. A very mixed run of hogget’s on offer and these made to €3.80/kg. A very large entry of cull ewes on offer, with over 150 of these. They averaged €2/kg with a top price of €239 for a ewe weighing 102kgs.

Big sale again today with over 900 cattle on offer, which included 160 calves. Trade held very well for the better type weanlings in both the bulls and heifers, but the plainer types were a shade easier across the board. Shippers & farmers active in the bull ring, with only farmers in the heifer ring. Some very light calves available, but good demand for the stronger calves. Suckler stock a great trade today, with mostly pairs available and these made to €2,650. A few in calf lots made to €1,680. A few dairy cows made from €1,050 to €1,700. Quite a number of HEX calves made from €70 to €445, as AAX calves made from €15 to €285. A small entry of FR calves made from €20 to €125.

Fine size sale again today with over 600 on offer. A lot of store bullocks on offer today with beef type bullocks not as plentiful. Overall, bullocks holding a steady trade with young quality bullocks making over €3/kg. Some great cows on offer today with a mix of continental and friesian cows. Some great young continental cows on offer and these again made in excess of €3/kg. A lot of lighter store heifers on offer today. Bull numbers decreased slightly but these met a serious trade with a Charolais bull 1,110kg making €2,630.
