Entry System:
Entries for Tuesday Sales will be taken on Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday (5pm) of the previous week for inclusion in the draw.
Entries for Thursday & Friday Sales will be taken on Thursday and Friday (5pm) of the previous week for inclusion in the draw.
Entries for Monday Sheep Auction taken on Friday of previous week.
The Runner Section:
Only Stock 6 MONTHS OR UNDER will be sold in the Runner Section and they will be sold after the Calf Sale.
Calves must be at least 10 days of age before they can be sold and UNDER 6 weeks of age.

Draw for First Pen of Heifers to be Sold
***Change to draw system for Bullocks, Heifers, Cull Cows, Weanling Bulls & Weanling Heifers – From 31st January 2022 – enter your stock as usual – if the number drawn is equal to or below half the number of pens entered, we go down to pen 1 and then up. If the number drawn is above half the number of pens entered, we go up to the last pen in the draw, then start at pen 1 and up to the number drawn.
Sheep Sellers All sheep including lambs presented for sale must be identified with a full set of EID tags, i.e. one conventional tag in the sheep’s left ear and a corresponding electronic tag placed in the sheep’s right ear. All sheep moved to and from a livestock mart must also be accompanied by a newly issued dispatch document containing a barcoded document serial number.

Smaller numbers of sheep today with just over 400 on offer. Trade a shade dearer today with hogget’s up €3 to €5 per head. Again, cull ewes a strong trade and these made to €189 for 104kgs. A full clearance was achieved today in the sheep yard.

PEDIGREE REGISTERED MIXED BREED BULL SALE
We held our first mixed breed bull sale today and we achieved a 60% clearance with an 85% clearance in the Limousin section. Bulls ranged from €1,925 to €3,900, with the top price recorded for a 17 month old Limousin bull. An average price of €2,350 was achieved.
Next mixed breed bull sale is Monday the 11th April, entries now being taken.

Big sale with just short of 1,000 head on offer. Bit more life in the calf trade today but light Friesian bulls still a tough trade. A few dairy cows available today and these made €1,300 to €1,710. Pairs in the suckler ring made to €2,720 and in-calf lots made to €1,840. Poor Friesian bull calves made €5 to €45 and better lots made €70 to €120. AA calves made €120 to €280. HEX calves made €150 to €310. Again, weanlings a strong trade with quite a number of bullocks available today. Quality in the heifer ring was variable but a fine trade for anything nice.

Bigger sale today in all categories and calf numbers increasing week on week. Friesian bull calves made €20 to €45 for light calves with better Friesian bulls making to €120. HEX calves made to €270. Again, a very strong trade for cull cows, mostly dairy culls available. In the bullocks and heifer rings its mostly young yearling cattle available and these could only be described as a smashing trade.

Big sale of Bullocks again today with just shy of 600 on offer. Again, cattle holding a very good trade and serious online activity again. Demand for heavy beef types and forward cattle in general was exceptionally strong. Trade stronger today with €3/kg breached many times at all weight categories.
