Entry System:
Entries for Tuesday Sales will be taken on Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday (5pm) of the previous week for inclusion in the draw.
Entries for Thursday & Friday Sales will be taken on Thursday and Friday (5pm) of the previous week for inclusion in the draw.
Entries for Monday Sheep Auction taken on Friday of previous week.
The Runner Section:
Only Stock 6 MONTHS OR UNDER will be sold in the Runner Section and they will be sold after the Calf Sale.
Calves must be at least 10 days of age before they can be sold and UNDER 6 weeks of age.

Draw for First Pen of Heifers to be Sold
***Change to draw system for Bullocks, Heifers, Cull Cows, Weanling Bulls & Weanling Heifers – From 31st January 2022 – enter your stock as usual – if the number drawn is equal to or below half the number of pens entered, we go down to pen 1 and then up. If the number drawn is above half the number of pens entered, we go up to the last pen in the draw, then start at pen 1 and up to the number drawn.
Sheep Sellers All sheep including lambs presented for sale must be identified with a full set of EID tags, i.e. one conventional tag in the sheep’s left ear and a corresponding electronic tag placed in the sheep’s right ear. All sheep moved to and from a livestock mart must also be accompanied by a newly issued dispatch document containing a barcoded document serial number.

Sheep Auction
Good size sheep sale today with just over 450 on offer. Overall no change to the trade on the week and a lot of hoggets in the €155 to €167 bracket. A top shout of €171 was achieved for a pen at 60kgs. Cull ewes, yet again, held a great trade with a pair at 105kgs making €197 and all fleshed ewes in demand.

Big sale again today with just short of 1,000 head on offer. Calf numbers back slightly today and more a mix of Friesians and beef breeds. Slightly better tone to the calf trade today but still very light FR bull calves making €5 to €40. Better lots making €75 to €110. AA calves made €115 to €285, HEX calves made €140 to €375. Continental calves made to €395. Dairy stock meet a good trade and made to €1,890. Pairs in the suckler ring hit €3,100 and in-calf lots to €2,120. Weanling trade steady for the good quality in both bulls and heifers but plainer lighter lots getting a bit stickier. More farmers about today to buy bullock weanlings.

Big sale again today with just over 400 available again which included 70 calves. Friesian bull calves made €5 to €145. BB heifer bull calves made to €455 and HEX calves made €105 to €310. AAX claves made €105 to €180. Very strong trade for cull cows. Again, in cull cow ring mostly dairy crosses whereas in bullock and heifer rings a greater mix of traditional and continental breeds, and quite a large entry of young stock.

More a mix of stores and forward cattle today and again anything forward a serious trade and great Northern activity online again today, both for beef and store type bullocks. Fine size sale with calves, heifers and bullocks available. Trade was strong and this ensured a full clearance on the day. Friesian bull calves made €35 to €65. A nice selection of Belgian Blue calves made €300. AA made to €195 and HEX calves made to €240. Bullocks made up a large portion of the sale with great demand.
