Entry System:
Entries for Tuesday Sales will be taken on Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday (5pm) of the previous week for inclusion in the draw.
Entries for Thursday & Friday Sales will be taken on Thursday and Friday (5pm) of the previous week for inclusion in the draw.
Entries for Monday Sheep Auction taken on Friday of previous week.
The Runner Section:
Only Stock 6 MONTHS OR UNDER will be sold in the Runner Section and they will be sold after the Calf Sale.
Calves must be at least 10 days of age before they can be sold and UNDER 6 weeks of age.

***Change to draw system for Bullocks, Heifers, Cull Cows, Weanling Bulls & Weanling Heifers – From 31st January 2022 – enter your stock as usual – if the number drawn is equal to or below half the number of pens entered, we go down to pen 1 and then up. If the number drawn is above half the number of pens entered, we go up to the last pen in the draw, then start at pen 1 and up to the number drawn.
Sheep Sellers All sheep including lambs presented for sale must be identified with a full set of EID tags, i.e. one conventional tag in the sheep’s left ear and a corresponding electronic tag placed in the sheep’s right ear. All sheep moved to and from a livestock mart must also be accompanied by a newly issued dispatch document containing a barcoded document serial number.

Bigger sale today and hogget trade improved again by €5 to €10 a head. Tops of the hoggets hit €179 with many lots exceeding €3.10/kg. Again a great trade for cull ewes and these hit a high of €198 for a pen of 5 at 98kgs. A good number of the cull ewes making €1.89/kg to €2.08/kg.

Our evening sale in Kilfenora proved a very good success with a fine turnout of stock and a fine trade to match. A 100% clearance was achieved. A good mix of young stock and aged stock in the bullock section but mostly young stock in the heifer ring.

Very big sale today with over 1,000 head on offer and 3 rings busy all day. Trade would be similar overall but a lot more mixed stock about today in all rings. Calf numbers similar to last week and the same story with light Friesian bulls €5 to €45 and better lots €70 to €170. A BB bull calf made €840 but a real class calf. HEX calves made to €315. AA calves made to €200. Dairy stock a good trade and made €950 to €1,770. Pairs in the suckler ring made to €2,020 and in-calf lots to €1,960.

We held a combined sale of bullocks, heifers and cull cows today as yesterday was Paddy’s Day. Again, forward stock in all rings were in great demand with quite a bit of online Northern activity. Some of the plainer lots, especially in the lower weights may be a shade easier, in both bullock and heifer rings. Aged bulls averaged €2.05/kg and made to €2,220 for a Limousine at 1,060 kgs.
